Kai and Caleb walked out the front door of the Boar's Hoof and headed towards the north-eastern gate of the town. A hearty breakfast in their bellies, they almost forgot the worries of the past few days; almost.
The town was already bubbling with morning activity, early bird shoppers and ambitious merchants lining the streets. Kai was just about to comment on the activity when a large cart being drawn by two large oxen almost ran him over and Caleb had to push him out of the way.
As he stood up and brushed dirt off his shirt and pants Kai smiled and said, "Well, that’s a great start to the day isn't it?"
Caleb stared at Kai, face stoic, and replied "Please, try and be more careful."
Slightly embarrassed, but still amused, Kai said, "I'll try and pay more attention, but you have to lighten up."
