Kai pursed his lips, took a deep breath
and nodded. He didn't like it, not at all, but he had to admit, Caleb
had a point; it was the only way.
With that, they agreed to discuss the
plan further in the morning. After what seemed like an eternity
traveling, a good night's sleep in an actual bed was much to enticing
to put off any longer.
Caleb stood and made his way to the
adjacent room, bidding Kai a good night as he closed the door behind
him. With not a moment's hesitation, Kai removed his clothing and
threw himself into bed. A quick turn of the knob shut off the lamp
lighting the room and Kai swiftly drifted into sleep.
Caleb took his time in the hallway
before opening the door to his room; enjoying the
fresher air, as well as listening for any late night sounds.
